Well, Tegan and I checked out Beowulf 3D on Saturday(not at IMAX 😦 ), and it was fukn fantastic!!! We were pretty spun out when they didn’t give us 3D glasses, and thought maybe you had to go to special cinemas or pay extra or something for them, but it turned out that it was because of this new 3D stylee!
Initially I found the animation and the opening “scene-setting” bits a little “Shrek”ish, but that soon went away… The only downside is the loss of detail in facial expressions and subtleties like hair and the flow of garments in the wind etc.
I grew up with an insatiable interest in the occult, supernatural and mythology, and as such, knew the story pretty well as it was, and was a little worried that the epic-ness of it all might be a bit lost for the sake of today’s half-retarded kiddies, but it sure as hell wasn’t! Anyway, rather than carry on about it (it’s great, go see it, I will definitely check it on IMAX if the opportunity presents itself!) I’m gonna dump a bit of info about the animation technique into your brainhole, and follow it up nicely with the actual poem/story! 😀
(there’s a *SUPERSECRET* link to an MP3 directory if you’re too lazy to read!)
oh… but first… DAMN ANGELINA JOLIE IS HOT! Even when she’s an animated demon-witch-queen!!!
*edit* -bah, fuzznuckitt… having problems… just clickyclicky linkylinky…
